At the same year that she was employed as a waitress at An American Place. However, Guarnaschelli's cooking experience began earlier while watching her mother try out a variety of recipes in her kitchen while editing cookbooks. She worked with Larry Forgione and then at various restaurants in New York France and Los Angeles such as Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. Guarnaschelli eventually became the the executive chef of Butter. Guarnaschelli was a competitor against Cat Cora on Food Network's Iron Chef America 2007 Farmers Market Battle. Following her appearance as a judge on the Program the show in 2011, Guarnaschelli took part in the Next Iron Chef's fourth season wherein she placed third. She also lost her final competition, the Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast. Her position was upgraded to sous chef for Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian following the 4th season of The Next Iron Chef. She also hosted The Food Network program The Cooking Loft together with Alex Guarnaschelli. In this program, she taught a bunch of small students how to reinvent classic recipes.
